Reading has always been a passion of mine. Walking into a library or bookstore feels like coming home to me. The possibilities........

At first glance, my quote may not seem to go with the photo collages I have chosen for today, but if you look closely, and particularly if you put the pictures together in your mind, they give some clues as to what book series I am currently reading. Guesses are welcome!

For some reason, I have been thinking of my mother quite a bit for the last few days. Maybe because we went to a u-pick farm and picked blueberries the other day, and I know she would have loved being there.

The picture above was taken in about 1967. :)

I know that she is with us, smiling down and loving us still. Miss you Mamma. Love you so much.

Even on the rough days, my children bring me so much joy. I find myself feeling totally amazed to have been given the gift of being their mommy. They help keep me focused on what really matters, and bring me laughter each and every day.

Welcome to Our Blog-to-Blog Wonderful Water Treasure Hunt!

This Treasure Hunt ends on Friday, July 10th at midnight EST. The winner will be announced on Monday, July 13th. I will include a list of all the people who qualified for the drawing. Today I wanted to post a special thank you to all the men and women who have served and are serving our country. Because of the sacrifices you have made, we all enjoy freedom of speech, freedom of thought, freedom of religion, freedom of expression, and so many other freedoms others only long for. Thank you, and God bless you. I feel so fortunate to live in this country.

Quite a while back, my friend Kenna, a very talented lady - incredible photographer, environmentalist, whitewater rafting guide and good friend - awarded me the lemonade award. Although I am very late in saying so, I feel deeply touched to have been chosen by Kenna for this award. Please visit Kenna's inspiring blog, Beholden to Nature, and her amazing Etsy shop. It will make your day brighter!

A Lemonade Award is awarded for a great attitude, and on some days, my attitude is pretty good, I suppose. Despite my incredible sarcasm (it's genetic), and cynicism on some days, I really and truly am a "glass-half-full" kind of girl. So thank you very much, Kenna, for seeing this in me. I am glad that it shows through.
