Blog Your Blessings Sunday

Welcome to Blog Your Blessings Sunday! Want to start your day with a smile? Click the button below or visit one of the blogs listed in my sidebar!

I spotted these flowers in a vacant lot while driving by one day. On closer inspection, it was obvious that someone had scattered seeds - cosmos, zinnias, bachelor buttons and snow crop were covering this rocky lot. Made me think that we never know when a decision we make, a small something we do will make someone smile, make another's day brighter. Seeing these flowers in such an unexpected place also reminded me to look closely, slow down and pay attention.

Thank you so much for visiting! ♥, allie

Sunday Citar

Welcome to Sunday Citar! This blog quote meme was created by Tabitha@Fresh Mommy . You can stop by her blog to see the quotes and photos that she and everyone else is loving right now.

The world is not respectable; it is mortal, tormented, confused, deluded forever; but it is shot through with beauty, with love, with glints of courage and laughter; and in these, the spirit blooms timidly, and struggles to the light amid the thorns.

Just looking at my tree photos as I put together my posts for the Terrific Trees Treasure Hunt brought back so many happy memories - there are so many incredible places to see in this world - not enough time or money to see them all!

These pictures of the redwoods in Muir Woods are especially dear to me because we were there the day before I went into labor with our fourth child!

We walked and walked and walked (which may have something to do with me going into labor the next day! :) It was summer time, and warm in general, especially for me, but within Muir Woods, it is cool and shady with so many fascinating plants and animals to see. There is also a sense of peace and calm there - a sacred feeling, really. Also a fitting lead-in to the birth of our precious son.

our artist's hands

I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did.'
