Twilight?
Beautiful pictures!
I guess it could be Twilight, not sure. The apple fits for one of the sequels, the woods fit for Twilight, not sure what the red thing or the tulip would be. I am just starting the 2nd book in the series.

The red thing is a stone with a heart inside - for the love story, and the tulip mimics the cover of New Moon.

Carole and Judi, I think that you will like them. They are a combination between beauty and the beast, and romeo and juliet - also very exciting. a lot about family ties. Awesome books!
Oh, and not scary - I can't read scary stuff.
